The boys’ High School Varsity team starts the game off with some great speed and teamwork.

This is one of the biggest games that the student-athletes will play through the basketball season. This year they started with the Varsity High School boys team then worked their way down and then did that same with the girls’ teams. At the beginning of the game, the students were ahead and it looked like they could win, but the teachers pulled ahead and won the game.

Ayush Patel, an 8th grader that played for the Varsity Middle Division team, said,

“I enjoyed playing with my current teachers and the ones that taught me in the past.”

Some people may think that having the coaches playing is an unfair advantage with the height and experience, but Ayush says “it’s fair to have them play since they are all faculty and we enjoy the challenge,” and Anisa Nanavati (8), agreed with him.

Many different teachers played in the game and enjoyed the competition with all of their students. Mr. Braxton, the math teacher for the 5th and 6th grade said, “the game was very fun; however, the day after was not so much because I was really sore from all of the running.” His favorite team to play was the 5th and 6th graders since he thought that it was fair game and it was exciting to see how they played. To prepare all of the teachers arrived early and stretched together though there were some rumors of teachers stretching the morning of as well to prevent injuries.
